What are Presets?

banner_en.png

A preset is a ready-made bot. We pre-select a configuration set up for effective trading in a specific direction, with a clear aggression level and predictable risk – so you don’t have to deal with the settings. You pick a preset – and launch the bot in one click, right in the app.

Why do we update presets?

The market never stands still, and every inefficiency you can profit from has its own lifespan. That’s why a preset is not a permanent set of parameters: we research the market deeply and regularly, and release presets built on current inefficiencies. As soon as a preset’s numbers start to get worse – we remove it from rotation. This way you always choose from presets tuned to the current market. More details in Our approach.

How do we make presets?

Behind every preset stands a huge amount of computing work, impossible to do by hand: 0.5 to 1.5 million years of honest backtest time at one-second resolution – every second of real market history is replayed hundreds of thousands of times. Tests of this scale are possible thanks to our unique analytics platform.

First we prepare tens of thousands of candidate configurations. Each one goes through an offset test: hundreds of copies of a bot with that configuration are launched at different moments in time, to see how it behaves no matter when it starts. Then we analyze the results of all candidates and keep one – the optimal one. That one becomes the preset.

What does the data show?

A preset’s chances of reaching 100% profit (the winrate) are, on average, very strong. You may notice that the winrate drops as the aggression level grows, but that’s an honest trade-off and a flexible tool, not a flaw. Aggressive presets earn faster but need some attention to choosing the direction and the start moment. A Moderate can be launched at practically any moment without watching the market, while for an Aggressive it may be enough to check the news about the trend for the week. For a Kamikaze it’s enough to check the outlook for the day – or use it to catch sudden pumps, dumps and corrections. On top of that, Kamikaze presets are built for small deposits: the cost of a mistake is low, and with a little monitoring the earning potential is very high.

Note that everything above was about the chances of reaching 100% profit – that is, doubling the deposit. When starting a bot, you can pick a smaller target profit – this significantly raises the chances of success. In fact, the target profit is the only setting there is, besides the deposit amount.

Where to see the results and how to read them?

Every preset’s description includes an interactive chart of its testing – detailed down to individual launches. These are the same hundreds of shifted starts we talked about above. We publish the full picture of a preset’s behavior, and no special knowledge is needed to understand it: a couple of minutes – and you have objective expectations instead of promises.
